Sir Richard F. Burton said in 1884 " that the history of humanity is the history of the sword...to surrender the sword is submission, to break the sword is degradation, to kiss the sword is to pay it the highest form of oath & homeage." Regardless of what the Burtons' and the Bushs' of the world may think we have to be liberated from the sword and embrace our humanity with a loving kindness of all living things t/o this big blue marble! I suspect that it may take another 1000 years to do this...will we survive??????????????
